It was another all-FIITJEE day as the week started amidst holidays for the other CV students. If that wasn’t enough, we had to write a three-hour NCERT test in the afternoon. And as you’d expect, Raghav ran off home before MP came!

One of the most surprising things happened on Tuesday when MP didn’t take class in the morning. For once, he actually left us free when he saw quite a few us desperate to complete our Computer Science observations, which was due in the first period.

Meanwhile, Muthupandi was using his own surprise tactics. If varying the day of his weekly check wasn’t enough, he brought Safiyulla with him on Wednesday for the check. The two of them had contradicting rules on the girls’ hair and had an arguement on that, but eventually walked away with heavy pockets.

It was time for the weekly F1-F2 battle on Thursday as we took to the ground during PT period. After a delayed start cause of the extension of Computer Science period (where everyone were hustling to complete their observations which were two days overdue), neither team could take the lead for quite some time. Some brilliant team play on the counter-attack finally enabled Karan Sharma to give F1 the lead late in the first half. Esaki failed to bring scores back level as his penalty was kept out by the goalie in the second half. Karan then doubled the lead with a pinpoint header with around five minutes to go. Just as the match seemed to have been decided, Venkatesh pulled one back for F2 with minutes left for close. But Sarav put the game beyond doubt by finding  the top corner with one of the last kicks of the game. The game ended 3 – 1 in the favour of F1, but the highlight of the match were the three injuries to Aakarsh, Garimella and Dutta. Hopefully they’ll be back in action before next Thursday.

The class spent their lunch break on Friday trying to teach Dutta to speak Tamil. He needed to learn Tamil for one of its most important applications – arguing with auto drivers. During the course of it, we were left wondering who was worse – Dutta or Siva? 😉

One good thing about this Saturday was that the rest of the school was working – which meant we had lesser FIITJEE periods. To make things better, CUM and MJ didn’t take class, so we spent the last two periods playing what was supposed to be Truth or Dare. Only, you didn’t have the option of ‘Truth’, you had to do only dares. Dutta, who had to have Sailesh on a reverse cowgirl position was one of the classic ones!

We’ve got our Computer Science project previews on Monday morning, so good luck to everyone on it :).

It was time for school again when the new week started after our three-day break. I think CVM and MKS missed each other during those days, cause they were spotted holding hands and walking in the corridor on Monday afternoon.

CVM and PSOM began to get serious about the upcoming quarterly exams. On Tuesday, they gave us assignment sheets and are forcibly getting us to complete them. They’re threatening to make us stay back at school until 5.30 everyday if we don’t, but I guess everyone believes they’ll be able to wriggle their way out of it by saying something or the other.

On Wednesday, unlike last week, we didn’t hear the news we were hoping to. FIITJEE confirmed that they would not be giving us any holidays that the rest of the school was getting on Friday, Saturday and Monday. Friday, however, was optional for those who were in XI-F1 last year since only the basics of probability, which was already taught in F1 but not in F2, was going to be taught.

When we told CUM about us not having holidays, she refused to believe us, convinced that we were lying only to avoid being given any homework. In the end, however, she was convinced when the security told her that we indeed had no holidays.

Muthupandi decided to break tradition by coming for his weekly inspection on Thursday instead of Monday. But being his last working day of the week, he didn’t check too much in detail. A few glances here and there, and he was gone with his punch dialogue – “Wokay, we will meet on Tuesday”.

Since regular school wasn’t working on Friday, Amudha didn’t want us to wear our school uniform. But I guess Pragadish got the wrong idea when he was told that he could wear anything he wanted. MP gave him a long lecture when he walked in late to class, wearing three-fourths and slippers!

It was Monday again, and Muthupandi was back! He was scampering across the class yelling “10 rupees, 10 rupees, 10 rupees…”. That’s when he stopped at the bench where Ramaswamy and Balajee were sitting. He noticed that the shoe that was sticking out of the bench wasn’t canvas and told Balajee to pay up. The funny part was, it wasn’t Balajee’s shoe! The class burst out in laughter when Balajee returned a startled expression saying that it wasn’t his shoe. It turned out that it was Ram’s shoe, who had to eventually pay the fine. But Muthupandi wasn’t done just yet. When I was standing up to answer a question that MP asked, he demanded a fine from me as well, thinking I was standing up for not being in uniform!

We heard some wonderful news on Tuesday when MP told us that they were gonna give us holidays for Maithri. It did, however, come with a condition – we were to finish both our Computer Science and Chemistry projects in those three days.

We ran into Muthupandi again on Wednesday. This time, it was at the football ground. He grabbed our ball and held it for a hundred buck ransom. We bargained for a while, after which he brought it down to fifty. But the bargaining didn’t stop at that. And at the end, we convinced him to give it back to us for thirty!

After one period of biomolecules in Chemistry in the afternoon, we had one period of Chemistry mokkai! The class shared all their Chemistry-related ‘jokes’ with the rest of the class, more than happy to keep CVM away from the blackboard.

Thursday saw PSOM really pissed! I don’t whether it was about our performance in the cycle test or what, but he first slammed the window on a bunch of kids who wanted to pick the ball out from the sunshade, and then told us that he didn’t want us to bring a football to class anymore. But I don’t think anyone is gonna listen to him. Anyway,  all that was on our minds at that time was about the three days waiting in store for us…

It was time for the start of Phase VII at FIITJEE on Monday. The new phase started with analysis of the phase test’s Chemistry paper. There were so many mistakes in the paper that really pissed CVM off, since he proofread the paper and corrected everything but ended up having the paper printed without the corrections. His mood though, lightened up when Muthupandi came into the class and started checking everyone’s uniform in his usual, comical way. Almost everyone were missing something or the other and had to pay up.

During Physics practical class on Wednesday, Guru sir caught Sailesh fooling around with the wires and all that. For some reason, he didn’t want to speak at that time and through his actions he was questioning Sailesh about what he was doing. He stuck his palm out, as if to say “What the hell are you doing?” Sailesh, however, interpreted his actions as a thumbs up followed by him sticking his hand out to congratulate him. So he actually gave him a hand shake and left the lab.

PSOM read out his diary to us on Friday and had some interesting stories to tell. He told us about how he had his first crush in seventh grade, how they were “unfortunately” only friends, how he’d burn on seeing her with another guy and all that. He also told us how it was when he first came to Chennai. He brought blankets and warm clothes only to learn that the temperature was scorching down here. His first experience with Chennai’s auto drivers wasn’t great either, after being charged around four times of what he actually should have been!

On Saturday we had our Math cycle test. MP wanted us to get “minimum centum” in this paper, and told us that we’d have to rewrite the paper as many times as the marks we’d lose if we didn’t. Thankfully it was an easy paper and I guess as lot us will be relieved from writing the paper again.

The week started off with an all-FIITJEE day as the mainstream school were enjoying their post-sports day rest. And just as school returned to normal on Tuesday, so did the FIITJEE faculty. It was evident in the way MKS and CVM were fighting over who could wear a proper tie faster. The “Tie Tying” competition left CVM struggling in front of MKS, who couldn’t help but burst out in laughter.

On Wednesday, Ankit Shai, who was absent from class all day long, walked in at 3.30 to write the test alone. His burning desire to write the test, however, didn’t seem to please CVM at all. He demanded a letter from him for his absence from the morning and afternoon sessions, stating that it was a class he was entering, and not a marriage hall.

The impossible happened on Friday when a FIITJEE period was failed to be filled in by a teacher for the first time ever. PSOM apparently had to go the passport office, MP had class with the eleventh graders and it was CVM’s weekly off, so we had the liberty to play pictionary and whatever else we wanted.

Saturday was a much-needed holiday for preparing for Sunday’s phase test. The test though, had some boring p-Block crap along with some really hard Physics questions, making us glad about how Math happens to save us time and again.
