Okay, so last week’s edition of  ‘The Week That Was’ (15th Feb ’09 – 20th Feb ’09) didn’t quite make it here. The week was loaded with the pre-annuals and hence the time constraints. The only notable thing that did happen that week anyway was that MSJ (John) came as our temporary replacement for MP.

Coming to this week, well, the first day saw around 15 people stay home to study for the next day’s Physics exam. And it pissed off CVM big time! Anyway, he seemed intent on controlling his moodswings, so he simmered down pretty soon. And the exam had hardly any questions that PSOM gave us earlier with an assurance of them appearing in the question paper!

Karan Sharma is making news again – this time for what he did during our free time after the Physics practical exam. Arjun, Sarav, Chirayu and Arvind were playing ‘Hot Hands’, and Karan happened to be one of the spectators. Sarav launched in another one of his infamous powerful blows on Arjun, whose reaction was “Ouch! That hurt!”. Yeah, you can imagine what Karan would’ve been doing at that time – talking to himself. “Ouch that hurt, ouch that hurt, ouch that hurt… ” was spilling from his lips! Lol. After a while when it was Chirayu’s turn to get his hands reddened, he pulled it out at the last second making poor Arvind, whose hands were just underneath, face the fury.Arvind’s words at that time “Chirayu, you dumb ass”, were recorded keenly by Karan. “Chirayu you dumb ass, Chirayu you dumb ass, Chirayu you dumb ass… ” was imaginably, what followed!

Exams seem to be the order of the coming week as well, with the  Chemistry and Computer Science practical exams on Monday and Tuesday and the Phase Test on Thursday. Survive! 🙂

The week started off with Chemistry. “Moodswing Mahesh” (yeah, I’m talking about CVM) was seen in action again. People talking was something he couldn’t stand and it pissed him off so much that he refused to continue taking class that day! He turned furious and slammed the book on the table and stormed out of the class… or rather, tried to. ‘Cause when he went like a raging bull to swing the door open, it didn’t budge! A few more attempts followed, but to no avail. Some smart aleck locked the door from the outside, which I’m sure left CVM really embarrassed. The door was soon unlocked and CVM ran off to the staff room and stayed there for a while. He returned in around 15 minutes complaining that none of us had bothered to go bring him back. Another thing to note about CVM when he’s angry is his language. His English goes horribly crazy! One of the many memorable lines of that Monday afternoon was “Listen, I don’t have any angry with you, ok?” :D.

Karan Sharma was all over the class on Wednesday begging for notes, explanations and anything else he could extract from those who attended the Physics “Potential Enhancement Session” on Tuesday evening. He seemed extremely dejected by the fact that he didn’t qualify to attend it himself. But the boy has to realize that he’ll need a lot more than -3 to qualify!

Thursday and Friday were holidays that FIITJEE robbed us of. While the rest of the school had the days off to prepare for the annual day, here were a bunch of unfortunate students having to listen to a couple of FIITJEE teachers for over 6 hours. Thankfully, Saturday and Sunday weren’t packed with exams. We actually had those days off :).

The next week and a half seems kinda busy with the pre-annuals and stuff. Good luck for it!

Raghav Makes Inspirational Football Comeback February 13, 2010

Raghavender Bharadwaj, key defender in the XI-F1 squad made his return to intra-class football after being out for six months due to a foot injury.

After turning a year older just a few days ago, he felt it was time he got off the bleachers from where he used to sit and watch us and get into the action himself. The fan favourite marked his return with quite a few heavy clearances out of the box, which of course was accompanied by loud cheers!

His comeback inspired Rajeshwer and Arvind, both who’ve never played before, to join the action. While Arvind couldn’t carry on for much longer, Rajeshwer did, and supported Raghav in plugging the whole in front of Chirayu (who was goalie).

We now know where all eyes are gonna be this Thursday ;)!

The Math marathon continue from where it left off in the previous week. A total of 16 math periods in 5 days should tell the story. And MP was making us write mock AIITS tests all through those classes. Horribly tough ones, too! And the actually exam on Sunday was just as bad, so let’s end that topic right here :|.

The highlight of the week this time around was Akshay Desai (aka Akshi Deshi). His straightforwardness (phew, that’s a big word!) with MJ would have probably been enough to tell her what we think about certain school issues. Well, here’s what happened:

MJ walks into the class during Friday’s mock AIITS.

MJ: All those who haven’t paid the farewell money yet and have brought it today please give it to me now.

Akshay: Here ma’am. Anyway it’s a waste of money, you can keep it.

MJ (getting philosophical as usual): Everything is a waste Akshay. Sometimes life itself is a waste… I want to meet you during lunch.

Lunchtime. Time for Akshay to go meet MJ – but not alone. Guess who’s accompanying him? Yes, none other than Mr. I-don’t-care-who-I’m-talking-to… Raghavender Bharadwaj! So they go.

MJ (probably terrified): Raghavender, who called you here?

Raghav: No one. I just came!

MJ: Akshay, if you have a problem paying the money, why don’t we go talk about it to the principal?

Akshay: It’s not about the money. And what principal? She’ll definitely convince us to pay up anyway.

MJ: There’s definitely nothing I can do about it. If you want, you have to go talk to the principle.

In between, Raghav was dropping in a few ‘arrogant’ sentences here and there. He was so pissed off that he actually started pointing at MJ and yelling at her! Then came Akshay’s master dialogue.

Akshay: What the hell is Meena Aunty doing with that big palace and all those cars? She can’t afford to pay or what?

All that MJ could do was stand there stunned, fumbling for next words.

MJ: Don’t bring Meena Aunty into this. I told you there’s nothing I can do about it. Go back to class now. And Raghavender, you better improve your attitude!

Well that’s what happened. And I’m guessing that Raghav was probably proud of it! It certainly did bring life to an otherwise non-happening week.

The week got off to a rather weird start with CVM all of a sudden telling us to bring every single Chemistry package than had ever been printed to torture us… with the grid sheets stuck to them! And the declaration of the PDT marks made things worse. The entire class got pretty ordinary marks, especially Karan Sharma, who got… well, let’s just say that his marks were of the form -|x| ;).

Karan Sharma is also making the news for the highlighting of typical Karan moments – one was when Dutta was standing up to answer a question that MP had asked him. That was one of the rare questions to which Dutta didn’t know the answer. Karan, being his usual self was delightfully smiling at what was happening. So MP goes “Ah Karan Sharma is smiling yaar. I think so he knows.” The result? He didn’t know the answer either. His broad smile was only a part of his daily routine! Another was at the Chemistry lab of Friday. Some reaction was supposed to give a smell resembling that of rotten eggs. Though we all couldn’t get the smell one person sure did! And we rubbed it in by cueing the teacher with everything about “Sniffer Sharma” ;).

The faculty meeting on Saturday (where they devise new means of torture) gave us half the day off. And that was when we managed to beat XI-F2. The 8 – 1 scoreline was particularly sweet after two controversial goals on Thursday that handed them a 4 – 2 win against us. Yeah, it was the same match after which we had to spend our Math period outside class for turning up late. But that was better than what XI-F1 did on Saturday. They were working till 3.30, which meant that they had to be back to class by 1.10 after lunch. Unsurprisingly, then went late to class and weren’t allowed in. While we would have waited outside until we were pardoned, they decided not to waste time and came back out and continued playing and went back even later!

Lol not more than 15 people turned up that NCERT test at KRMM on Sunday. The “compulsory” test was the least priority for everyone who were probably watching the Australian Open Final. It was a forgettable test anyway, so its a good thing that they missed it in the end!

The coming week’s timetable is loaded with Math periods. Saturday, fortunately is a holiday – to study for the AIITS test. Another Sunday goes down the drain…
